Review of Hopewell borough, New Jersey

Wonderful community
Star Rating - 10/28/2009
I have lived in Hopewell (4 different houses) for 30 years. It is a wonderful town with a great elementary school in town. Lots of antique stores but you have to drive 6 miles to a grocery store. Several very upscale restaurants. Upsides: solid community involved in education, culture, preserving our 'rurburbia' feel, nice parks with playgrounds, 5 churches, Memorial Day parade; the larger township has rural feel, with everything from Revolutionary War stone houses to 'over 55' communities. 7 miles from Princeton, 10 from Flemington, and halfway between NY and Phila. Downsides: no public transportation, high taxes, high insurance.
